Saturday Excursion Information

Participants who registered and paid for the optional excursion on Saturday the 19th, can expect the following timeline for the event.

**The excursion is subject to cancellation if the minimum enrollment of 30 participants per group is not met 15 days prior to the scheduled date.

We will refund the excursion fee to the credit card you used in this registration process.
Currently, we will be having the Bandelier Tour as we do have enough participants. As of 4/18/12, we do not have enough participants signed up for the downtown walking gallery tour and it may be cancelled.
If you did not register for the tour, but are interested in attending, please consult the registration desk on Sunday at La Fonda for availability on the tour.

EVENT: Bandelier Tour

TIME: 8:30am Depart SF Convention Center

9:30am Arrive Bandelier

11:30am Depart Park

12:30pm Return to Santa Fe

Travel to Bandelier National Monument where you’ll descend into a canyon filled with the ruins of the Anasazi Indians, colloquially "the Ancient Ones."  Located on the Pajarito Plateau of the Jemez Mountains, Bandelier was the home of the Anasazi from the eleventh to fourteenth centuries.  Excavated over 90 years ago, these ruins were once home to over 200 people, ancestors of today's Pueblo Indians. You may walk along easy paths past the remains of ancient Pueblo dwellings to the cliff dwellings where you can climb ladders to peer inside.  Tour includes transportation, professional guide, monument entrance fee, and bottled water on board. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing. Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and cameras are recommended as well!

Walk through more than 400 years of history, art, and culture.  Our guide presents an extra­ordinary introduction to Santa Fe and provides an enter­taining, humorous, and accurate portrayal of the "City Different."  Visit the historic Plaza and the Palace of the Governors (whose occupants have included government and military leaders from Spain, Mexico, the Confeder­acy, the U.S. and Indian nations).  Learn about St. Francis Cathedral, and explore the Loretto Chapel and its miracu­lous staircase; the oldest church; and the capitol, and other major Santa Fe historical sites. Tour includes guide, O’Keeffe museum pass and entrance to Loretto Chapel. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing. Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and cameras are recommended as well!
